Housing options

Thinking about moving home, to somewhere that is easier to look after, or better suited to your needs, is a big decision.

These pages give you some information about the choices you have.

  • You may be able to make small changes (sometimes called adaptations) to your home, to make it safer and easier to use.
  • You might think about larger adaptations such as stair lifts and wet rooms, or think about downsizing.
  • If you have some care and support needs, then sheltered housing schemes may suit you best.
  • If you have been assessed by adult social care as having care and support needs, then extra care sheltered housing or residential care may be best.
