Monton Green Primary School
Monton Green has an Enhanced Resourced provision funded by the Local Authority for ten Key Stage 1 and 2 children with Moderate Learning Difficulties. This provision is for pupils from schools across the city who meet the eligibility criteria. Children who access this provision have an Education, Health and Care Plan naming the host school (Monton Green) and detailing the type of provision required (Cognition and Learning). Places are allocated through the LA’s SEN Panel process.
The children placed in the Resourced Provision receive the specialist help they need whilst also having the opportunity for inclusion within mainstream classes appropriate to their individual needs and strengths. Children access the National Curriculum through a personalised learning approach which is matched to their learning and development needs. This ensures access to a broad and balanced curriculum as well as developing emotionally and socially alongside their peers and contributing to the wider school community.
The Resourced Provision provides a adult to pupil ratio of 1:5 - enabling the delivery of a modified curriculum and specialist programmes on a 1:1 and small group basis. Nurture philosophy underpins the work of the specialist provision.
