The Friars Primary School

The Friars Primary School hosts a twelve place Resource Provision known as The Yellow Room. This Resource Provision provides a specialist learning environment for Key Stage one and Key Stage two pupils with cognition and learning identified as their primary need.
In order to reach their potential, the provision offers children an individualised curriculum, opportunities for repetition and over learning and a high adult to child ratio working with staff who are trained and experienced in working with children who have moderate learning difficulties.
The children placed in the Resource Provision receive the specialist help they need whilst also having the opportunity to integrate into mainstream classes. The access to mainstream is carefully arranged for each individual based on areas of curriculum strength. This ensures access to a broad and balanced curriculum as well as giving the opportunity to develop socially and emotionally alongside their peers.
Pupil places are arranged by Salford's SEND team and the pupils placed within the provision will have an EHCP. The school works together with the Local Authority and parents/carers to assess the suitability of pupils for a place within the Resource Provision.
