Bridge College - A special FE college
Bridge College is a non-residential specialist FE college. We offer specialist education for students aged 16 to 25 with learning difficulties, disabilities, complex health needs and autism.
We’re here to give students a voice in their future and get them ready for a happy, fulfilled adulthood. Our flexible curriculum means students can make choices about their education and our support gives them the tools to succeed. We develop individual learning plans shaped to suit each student’s interests, needs and aspirations so everyone leaves with the skills and self-confidence for their future.
From day one, every student has a multiskilled team around them, from tutors and therapists to nurses, support staff and assistive tech. We can even provide specialist staff training to tailor our expertise right down to the individual.
Everything we do is underpinned by the preparing for adulthood framework, helping students work towards their life ambitions. Based in central Manchetser we prepare our students for all aspects of adulthood, from future work and community life to independent and healthy living.

Most students think about applying in their last year of school, however it can take time to decide whether Bridge College is right for you and to have a full assessment of your needs, so it is a good idea to arrange to visit us well before this. Our advice is to apply in plenty of time.
- Other notes
Sometimes applying for a place at a specialist college can be hard because lots of questions are asked and you will be asked to consider alternatives – even if you don’t think they are right for you and are not your first choice. Don’t let that put you off – ask for help from your Connexions Advisor – and of course, you can contact us at Bridge College too.
To get in touch or ask for an application, you can call, email or send us a message. You are welcome to visit us, just phone 0161 487 4293 or email email@example.com or send us a message via our website at https://www.togethertrust.org.uk/bridge-college to arrange an appointment. We will send you further information and invite you to tour Bridge College. We advise you apply in good time because it can take a while to fully assess your needs, process your application and secure funding.
We are happy for you to come and have a look around and talk to staff and students about the College. We hold events, including Open Days, details of which appear on our website http://www.togethertrust.org.uk/
At Bridge College, we are the only Makaton Centre of Excellence in the North West. We have been judged by The Makaton Charity to be using Makaton signs and symbols to a consistently high standard across all areas of the college and we have a high number of qualified Makaton trainers.
At Bridge College, we will offer bespoke, person-centred support to ensure that you can enjoy your education to the full. We will enable you to learn in a positive environment that always focuses on what you do well and what you bring to the Bridge College community.
We will work closely with you and the people who matter most to you to create an individual learning programme that will help you work towards better life outcomes. We have a well trained, experienced and friendly staff team who are here to meet your goals whether you want to attend college full-time, part-time or on a blended programme which could be in partnership with another college.
Our belief is that everyone should have the chance to achieve their potential, there are no exceptions.
