Henshaws Society for Blind People

Our charity works with people of all ages, both children and adults, who are blind and visually impaired. We aim to empower them to take steps to change their lives for the better; independence and friendship are at the heart of everything we do.  We are one of Greater Manchester's oldest charities, and have been supporting the sight loss community for more than 180 years.

Through our award-winning Pathway to Independence programme, we deliver a bespoke package of support, activities and training which meet the needs of people living with sight loss.  Our activities include coffee mornings, Living With Sight Loss courses, counselling, digital assessments, friendship and peer-to-peer support groups, support at hospitals, and Visual Impairment Awareness training packages.

Please contact our First Step Team who can provide information, advice and guidance and support you through your sight loss journey.
