LEAP (Local Energy Advice Partnership) is a free energy and money saving advice service. LEAP can help you to save money and to keep your home warm and cosy.
LEAP offers a free of charge in-home advice visit. Our friendly Home Energy Advisors can:
- install free simple energy saving measures such as LED light bulbs and draught-proofing
- check if you're on the best energy tariff
- arrange a free money advice consultation
- help you find funding for further energy saving home improvements.

LEAP is open to all types of householders – homeowners, private renters and social housing tenants. You only need to qualify on one of the categories below in order to be eligible for the scheme. We need to record the reason why each applicant is eligible, and sometimes we might need you to provide some evidence of your eligibility.
Income
Anyone with one or more of the following:

Child Tax Credit with a low income (see table below)

Problems with significant and persistent debt
Health
Anyone with one or more of the following:

Cardiovascular condition (incl. coronary heart disease, stroke, hypertension, transient ischemic attack)

Respiratory condition (COPD, childhood asthma)

Neurological condition (incl dementia, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy)

Musculoskeletal conditions (incl. osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis etc)
-
Blood conditions (incl. Sickle cell disease, thalassemia)
-
Cancer
-
Physical or sensory disability
-
Severe learning difficulties
-
Moderate to severe mental illness (incl. schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression (where receiving regular treatment) etc)

Autoimmune or immunodeficiency diseases (incl. lupus, diabetes, HIV)

Terminal illness
-
Other illness exacerbated by cold (confirmed by GP)

Has a medical exception certificate
Vulnerability
Anyone with one or more of the following:

Carers in receipt of carers allowance

Housing Benefit

Disability benefit e.g. Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment, Attendance Allowance, Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit
