Bolton Primary Care Psychological Therapy Service (Bolton IAPT)

Bolton's Primary Care Psychological Therapy Service (Bolton IAPT) provides free, confidential talking therapies for adults aged 16 years and over.  We can work with you to help address a range of problems that you might be experiencing.  Such as depression, anxiety, stress, panic, sleep difficulties, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) or phobias.

IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) is a national programme developed in recognition that one if four of us will experience these difficulties at some point in our lives.

We have trained practitioners offering support ranging from; Guided Self-help, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Psychology and Counselling: enabling you to learn ways to help you to cope better.  This can be done on a one-to-one basis or we also offer group work.

If you are not already accessing support from a mental health service, and you feel Bolton IAPT might be helpful to you, you can either:

  • Speak with your GP, or Health and Social Care Professional
  • Self-refer by contacting Single Point of Access on 01204 483101
