DISC - Developing Initiatives Supporting Communities

We have considerable experience in developing effective programmes, which address a range of issues and currently provide services which offer support around these key areas: children and young people; criminal justice and offenders; drug and alcohol misuse; education, training and employment; family support; health; disability services and housing support. We currently operate from over 30 bases in County Durham, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Tees Valley and West Yorkshire and continue to develop across the region. DISC promotes choice; individuals interacting with our services make their own decisions, allowing us to put a strong focus on their needs. Our services, including one-to-one support, peer education and group work adapt to the needs of each child and young person we work with. We are currently providing a provision for: young carers (those who have the responsibility of caring for another); NEETs (16 to18 year olds not in employment, education or training); young offenders or those involved in/at risk of involvement in antisocial behaviour; involved in/risk of involvement in substance misuse; affected by parental substance misuse; subject to domestic violence; learning disabilities and homeless/at risk of homelessness. Find a service in your area by going to our website.
