Gamechangers- for adults with learning disabilities
Gamechangers is DIY’s exciting new programme for adults with learning disabilities who want to explore creative leadership skills in an accessible and supportive space.
A typical Gamechangers session starts with warm up games, and then we will plan any outreach sessions that we are running that week - this might be a sensory drama session in a local SEN schools, or a session focussed on drama games with adults with disabilities. We will often focus on exploring an element of leadership, for example, we are currently working on building visual CVs that showcase all of our brilliant experience. We may have a visiting organisation in to run a training session, for example BSL, Safeguarding or Art for wellbeing.
Each session is different but we always use drama to explore our own unique leadership identities and how people lead in different ways!
Free transport can be provided for the sessions, and if participants are in receipt of benefits, there is a free cafe at the Angel Centre.
