The Friendly Bunch Support Group
It is a support group for people of all ages and is held in a cafe in Walkden called Hug in a Mug, opposite the Wetherspoons behind the bus stop.
We run every Thursday 10-2pm and every second Thursday in the month we have a solicitor that gives free legal advice for the full four hours of the group. The support that is given is person centered and is whatever they need support for, we are supporting some with the DWP, autism assessment, ring and ride, etc the group may be putting on a monthly event for Young Carers, we want to set up groups, such as literacy, computer group, a card making group. Any ideas of things that you would like to do then please let us know and we will see what we can do.
There are lots of things going on we are aiming to use the group to raise awareness, using the local groups in the area, some of these are Dancing with Dementia, COPD group, a local autism group, and lots more. The number for the group is 07746115426

The cafe is an amazing place a hidden little gem. Karen & Eddie who own the cafe make everyone feel welcome. You get good quality food at reasonable prices and the hugs come free if you need one. the cafe itself run two craft groups to raise money for Dancing with Dementia, they are Tuesday night 6 until late and Wednesday afternoon 1-3 pm they put on various events and fundraisers and at the moment they are trialing Sunday dinners once a month. come and taste some of the homemade cake, scones etc they are to die for. They also are able to assist anybody with additional needs, such as feeding as one of our customers has MS so anybody don't be afraid to ask and the help will be given.

- When we start the groups there will be a small cost to replenish supplies and maintain the computers, it will still be affordable. The food & drinks in the cafe is there for people to purchase too.
