Emmaus Salford The Peoples Pods

The People’s Pods at Emmaus Salford provide people who are street homeless with a warm and safe place to stay on a temporary basis.

The People’s Pods was an idea borne out of one of our community member’s experience; seeing so many homeless people come into Emmaus shops to request emergency support. After further discussions, and with support of our partners, we were able to launch this service for people who are currently sleeping rough.

The People’s Pods are located in the grounds of Emmaus Salford’s community home in Pendleton. These fully-furnished pods have beds, storage, access to an en-suite toilet and mains electricity. We also have on-site facilities to support people who have four-legged friends with them.

The pods are designed so that people who are sleeping rough can enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep and access further support from outreach workers. This service compliments Emmaus Salford’s residential community and when rooms become available, these are offered to people accessing the pods.

How do I access the pods?

The People’s Pods at Emmaus Salford form part of Salford City Council’s A Bed Every Night provision.
